FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023: Auckland shootout Before the Curtain Raiser Between Norway and New Zealand

<p>The FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 is scheduled to begin on July 20, however before the women’s tournament in Australia and New Zealand, there was a tragic incident in Auckland, the capital of New Zealand.</p>
<p>Just hours before the curtain-raiser between New Zealand and Norway at Eden Park, at least two people, along with an armed assailant, were murdered and six others were injured in a shooting in the nation’s capital.</p>

<p>Clearly, Auckland is receiving a lot of attention as the FIFA World Cup begins this evening. The event will go forward as scheduled since the government talked to FIFA organizers this morning, according to Hipkins.</p>

<p>The incident took place near to the Norwegian team’s residence, and they indicated that they were safe and will heed any subsequent orders from the authorities with extreme care.</p>
<p>The Norwegian captain Maren Mjelde remarked, “At first we didn’t know what was going on, but eventually there were updates on TV and the local media.”</p>
<p>“The whole time, we felt secure. We have our own security officer in the team, and FIFA has a fantastic security system at the hotel, she said.</p>
<p>“Everyone appears to be in good spirits, and we are preparing for the game tonight as usual. If the authorities provide any directives, we could then need to adjust,” the 33-year-old skipper stated.</p>
<p>USA, the reigning world champions who are also headquartered in Auckland, stated: “Our security team is in communication with local authorities and we are proceeding with our daily schedule.”</p>
