Is CSK Going To Trade MI’s Rohit, Surya, And Others? CEO Ends Silence Regarding Rumors

Many inquiries about the Mumbai Indians’ choice to bench skipper Rohit Sharma in favor of Hardik Pandya have been made on social media after the team made the move. There were also rumors that one or two teams had asked whether Rohit Sharma was available for a trade.

CEO Ends Silence Regarding Rumors 6″ srcset=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/theindiaprint.com-is-csk-going-to-trade-mis-rohit-surya-and-others-ceo-ends-silence-regarding-rumors.jpg 275w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/theindiaprint.com-is-csk-going-to-trade-mis-rohit-surya-and-others-ceo-ends-silence-regarding-rumors-150×100.jpg 150w” sizes=”(max-width: 745px) 100vw, 745px” />

Not only Rohit but the names of a few other elite players, like Suryakumar Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah, were also connected to a move to a different team. Some even went so far as to say that one club interested in recruiting MI talents is Chennai Super Kings. However, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan has disassociated his team from any potential transaction involving the Mumbai Indians.

Viswanathan said that trading a player is against CSK’s “principles” in a conversation with Cricbuzz. The Chennai chief believes that his team does not currently have any players available for trade with the Mumbai Indians.

“We don’t have any players to deal with the Mumbai Indians, and we don’t trade players as a principle. Midway through the Dubai auction, franchise CEO Kasi Viswanathan said, “We have not approached them and we do not intend to either.”

Mahela Jayawardene, the global head of cricket for the Mumbai Indians, was questioned about the decision to deprive Rohit of leadership duties at the auction. At some time, he argued, the call has to be answered. However, he now anticipates that the Hitman will mentor his replacement, Hardik, throughout this phase of change.

It is crucial for us to have Ro (Rohit Sharma) on the squad to mentor the next generation both on and off the field. He has performed flawlessly. Ro and I have collaborated closely. He is a wonderful person, and I have no doubt that he will contribute to the legacy by leading it forward. Mumbai has experienced it before too, when Sachin Tendulkar played with the younger players. He made sure the Mumbai Indians were headed in the correct path and delegated responsibility to someone else. It’s identical to that. We had this discussion, and since everyone is on board, we can look forward to the next season,” he said.
