The actor is now incarcerated in the UAE's Sharjah Central Jail. The Mumbai Crime Branch has learned that Pereira was reportedly falsely accused of being involved in a brawl over a log. Rajesh Bobhate and Anthony Paul have both been detained so far in connection with the matter.

The criminal branch's preliminary investigation, according to a report by ANI, revealed that the actor from Batla House's mother and Anthony's sister had a disagreement about the dog. For the same reason, the actor is allegedly said to have been converted into a drug mule, according to the police. Anthony was apparently introduced to the actor by Rajesh, who claimed to be a talent scout, and was told about an audition for a web series in Sharjah. According to the authorities, the criminal asked her to carry a trophy that he had used to hide the contraband. She was told that the memento was a prop for an audition. Until May 2, 2023, the accused will be kept in police custody.
