<p>According to composer Pritam, the songs from Hindi movies from the 1990s served as inspiration for the soundtrack of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani, starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt.Director Karan Johar’s family drama film also has veteran actors Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Shabana Azmi in significant parts. The musician said that Karan want a vast collection of tunes that would bring back romantic memories for listeners.</p>
<p>“He desired lengthier plays, thus the song structures evolved. Each song consists of two ‘antara’ (paragraphs) that last for roughly five to six minutes. <p>Pritam and his group reworked the classic Asha Bhosle song Jhumka Gira Re from the 1966 film Mera Saaya for one of the tracks, Jhumka. Amitabh Bhattacharya wrote the new song, which was performed by Arijit Singh and Jonita Gandhi.</p>
<p>Dharmendra will be heard singing several of the movie’s well-known songs, according to Pritam. “There is a good reason to see ‘Jhumka Gira Re’ again. The nostalgic atmosphere is there throughout, and Dharamji may be heard performing classic tunes. That’s what got me excited,” he said.</p>
<p>“I kept the LPs, Jatin-Lalit, Anu Malik, and the 1990s period in mind when I was writing the songs. We updated it, but the melody and fundamental structure stayed the same, he said.</p>
<p>Alia and Ranveer received appreciation from Pritam for fully committing to their roles.</p>
<p>“I’m a Bengali, and Alia is excellent in her role as a Bengali in the movie. That tone of voice makes me think of my sister. Ranveer is also excellent. Everything will make sense after you see the movie, he continued.</p>
<p>Jonita Gandhi and Sonu Nigam gave performances at the musical gathering, which Spotify organized.</p>
<p>Pritam stated his enthusiasm for working with Sonu on one of the movie’s tracks.</p>
<p>“I had to phone Sonu, who was on vacation in Mauritius. It was kind of him to concur. You must see the movie to really appreciate the significance of the song, said Pritam.</p>
