Indilet: How a ₹5,000 Idea Is Quietly Rewiring India’s Rental and Property Management Game

On a humid Hyderabad evening, a young professional stood stranded outside a locked apartment, suitcase in hand, desperately calling a broker who had already disappeared with his fee. Somewhere else in the city, NRIs struggled to get genuine updates from society managers, while local property owners juggled tenants, maintenance issues, and endless follow-up calls. Out of this everyday chaos, Indilet was born.

Founded by Ex-Amazon professional Mohan Somnath, Indilet.com started with just ₹5,000, driven by a simple but powerful mission: to take real responsibility for rentals and property management in a market where accountability usually ends after handing over the keys.

Mohan began the journey from his own apartment, personally managing everything from property visits, handovers, documentation, tenant coordination, and even post-move-in support. He was the founder, operations executive, and relationship manager all at once. Within just seven months, this small experiment transformed into a company generating ₹1 crore in revenue, driven purely by word-of-mouth and trust.

For NRIs and local homeowners, Indilet has become a reliable ground partner eliminating dependency on brokers or distant relatives. For tenants, it delivers curated homes, transparent processes, and dependable support even after they move in, not just before signing agreements.

“You don’t always need an extraordinary idea. Sometimes, you simply need to recognize a real problem around you and take responsibility for solving it.”

Today, Indilet has grown into a 10-member team, aiming to achieve ₹1.5 crore revenue before FY 2025–26, while continuously redefining what property management truly means in India. Every stress-free move-in and every satisfied landlord adds a new chapter to Indilet’s journey a startup quietly restoring trust, professionalism, and accountability in India’s rental ecosystem, one home at a time.
